# Function: normalizeProseMarkdown()

Normalize block-level prose for CommonMark: insert a blank line before any list marker (`- `, `* `,
`+ `, or `\d+. `) when the preceding non-empty line is not already a list item. Without this,
CommonMark treats the list items as paragraph continuation text.
