A component state — from `:state()`, a native pseudo-class, a state class, or an attribute (`@cssstate`).

The state's derived name without its punctuation, e.g. `open`, `selected`, `disabled`, or
`aria-sort="ascending"` for an attribute state.

The full bracketed selector for an `attribute` state, e.g. `[aria-sort="ascending"]`.
