# Function: scopePreludeBase()

```ts
function scopePreludeBase(params): string | undefined;
```

Defined in: [packages/core/src/parse.ts:50](https://github.com/thedannywahl/cssdoc/blob/main/packages/core/src/parse.ts#L50)

Reduce an `@scope` at-rule's `params` (e.g. `(.pfx-alert)`) to a bare class name, or `undefined` for
anything that isn't a single simple class selector (a multi-selector or non-class prelude can't be
resolved to "this is the record's own base" safely, so `&`/`:scope` inside it are left unmatched).

## Parameters

### params

`string`

## Returns

`string` | `undefined`
